Rest Day 4/12/2023 The plan had been to finish the last 45 miles into New Orleans today, but when I woke up, my highly compromised bottom advised me that if I wanted to make it to Saint Augustine, it needed some time to heal. I listened, thinking that the “long game” matters more than riding in pain just to bag the miles. The team agreed, and we took today off and will also be taking tomorrow off (a planned rest day) to enjoy some of what The Big Easy has to offer. We should be on the move again Friday, hopefully with powered-sugar remnants still clinging to my beard, and continue our quest to make it to Saint Augustine. Until then, take care of each other and keep on smiling.
There are so many "butt" jokes that come to mind, okay I will only do one: What has two butts and kills people? An assassin. Alright I got it out of my system. Enjoy New Orleans, eat a couple of beignets for me and shake your booty to some of that jazz! (Almost out of my system)
After so much dedication and perseverance…….taking a day or two for rehab is just the thing to do! You have just alittle push ahead of you to end the trip of a lifetime, enjoy it without the pain!
Be extremely vigilant in and around NOLA, it is a 2 gun minimum town and danger lurks around most corners. Just sayin' as I've lived nearby for 20+ years and seen it spiral into chaos.

A journey harder than any "work" day. Well deserved time off! Enjoy!

Stay safe my friend.
Wise decision, my friend!
