Riding Day 35 – 78.07 miles Everyone was up early this morning, including our host, Cory. We drank coffee and gave each other a hard time like guys will do, packed our stuff into the OREM, took a few pictures of Odie and his son, and then we were off to tackle the day ahead. Cory, you were an amazing host, and I hope you’ll visit San Diego in the not-too-distant future and let me return the favor.
As Nancy said, epic! Like the historical adventurers who set sail to find a new world, or who sat at the tip of a rocket to launch into space, I imagine most missed the comforts of home and hearth despite the thrill of their accomplishment. Safe travels to you all!
You are sooo funny. I had a long day prepping for the 12 Marines that are coming tomorrow and reading about your travels lifted my spirits. Except the part about the truck getting so close, he should get Jane's Armenian curse. I knew the heat would come but you are riding towards a cool breeze my friend so keep riding. You are living the dream for all of us. Take care, you're almost there!
So close to the end! I'm sorry to hear you're finding things monotonous now but understand what you mean. I'm looking forward to reading your final post when you make it to StA! I've just had a couple of days in NOLA and about to try to leave tomorrow pending bad weather forecast. Safe riding friend!
I certainly agree that there comes a point where the journey there becomes tedious and you just want to get to the final destination. I can also agree from experience that Florida drivers are scary. When I spent time in Tampa taking care of my Mom I learned to drive in the middle lane so I wouldn’t be cut off by drivers pulling in front of me merging into traffic on the right side or making U-Turns into the inside lane from the splits in the medians! I can’t even imagine being on a tandem bike. You guys are brave, adventurous and impressive.
Sounds like you’re “ going to the barn”. I remember from my track days, the finish line was always the toughest part of the race. But I remember the joy and elation when it was crossed. A memory that will never be made again will be with you forever, and those of us who share your exploits feel amazed at what you will have done! Hang in there. “ Road warriors” the crowd cheering only gets louder as you approach the finish line 🤩🚵♀️🥇!
Ready

I'm glad you got as far as you did before really wanting to be done. What an accomplishment. Home stretch. Epic.
Thanks Tina, camping near Live Oak, FL tonight, only 113 more miles to go😎🚴🏾♂️
