4/3/2023 – Off Day in Austin
We rolled into Austin, TX yesterday around 4:30pm knowing that we had a place to stay with indoor plumbing and a bed. What we didn’t know (I think The Bob knew), is that we were going to get treated better than royalty, but without the paparazzi!
Houston & Jeremy, good friends of The Bob and his wife Susie, welcomed us into their beautiful home and essentially gave us the keys to their castle. They wined us and they dined us, they listened to our tales, they made us laugh, and they allowed us the great, great luxury of letting everything go for a day, which in retrospect is exactly what we needed most. Thanks guys, your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten
.
Tomorrow we’ll be up and back on the road early, our goal La Grange, TX or a little beyond. May our fresh legs, full bellies, and fuller hearts carry us safely into the next chapter…
It's so nice to hear about the good in the world. Each time I tune into your blog I'm reminded of life and for a brief moment forget about all the negative, I can just enjoy the adventure.
Sometimes we forget that it really cost us nothing to be kind. Dewayne reminded me the other night that people may forget what you did but will always remember the way you made them feel. Amazing how that works.
