We had a low tire light in the Flex that went on when we moved to Arizona and we decided to continue on when the tire was inspected and looked fine. Well that didn’t go well as we ended up with a flat tire on I-10 at night with trucks zooming past us. Long night ahead getting towed with Max and Molly riding in the back of the tow truck with me while Pat and Mike followed in the U-Haul. Ironically when we drove the Flex back to California the low tire light went on again and this time we did not ignore it! We had an air compressor with us and filled up the tire. Long story but I guess I’m saying better to pay attention to those warning lights than assume everything is okay. I applaud your decision and I agree that Robert deserves a beer or two. Go Team Go!

Don't wanna try to diagnose you over text but it might be worth purchasing an OBDII diagnose tool so you can read the codes it is throwing. You can look up the codes on Google to determine how menacing it is. Typically Check Engine lights are purely related to how well you are burning the excess /unused fuel. When going over mountains, your fuel air mixture changes quite a bit and with an older vehicle sometimes the computer (ECU) struggles to control all the associated modules/CAT etc etc. A hard reset is good to make the lights go away but may not solve the problem. Give it some time on non California gass and it might just straighten itself out. No guarantees though. :) Give me a ring if you need any peace of mind or mechanic negotiations. :)

Went through ALLL of that with the ol Tercel. Memories..🙏

You're gonna be ok. They get testy and lights go off and on with mechanics being baffled ...and they keep on going. A ripe old 320k miles. Give her a pat on the hood for me. Hope tomorrow brings a wonderful ride day.

We had the same problem when we moved to Washington State with my wife’s Toyota Highlander. The check engine light kept triggering until we bought a $30.00 plug-in ( instead of paying $ 60 for resetting the light) that told us we had an catalytic converter issue. So we took it to our automotive repair , and lo and behold there was no catalytic converter! It had been stolen in Juneau Alaska in car storage while we at our cabin outside of Glacier Bay🙈So now a sticker covers our trouble light until my wife decides we get a newer vehicle. So guys….stay with the bike and breakfast calories to keep your checking account solvent, and try to keep the wind at your back👍🏼
